Our Background
Collen Kriel founded Cygnus Solutions on a simple insight: most DevSecOps teams have more data than they can use, but less clarity than they need.
After 8.5 years at GitLab working with Fortune 500 companies across telecommunications, financial services, retail, public sector, and automotive, he saw the pattern repeat. Teams would implement world-class tooling, generate massive amounts of pipeline telemetry and security scan data, then struggle to answer basic questions like "Are we getting faster?" or "Is our security posture improving?" He spent those years helping enterprise customers solve exactly this problem. As a Support Engineer, he debugged complex CI/CD architectures and security scanning configurations. As a Senior Customer Success Manager, he helped teams turn that technical capability into measurable outcomes. A telecommunications company reduced vulnerabilities by 80% once we built visibility into their security data. A fintech firm finally implemented reliable DORA metrics tracking. A retail customer gained pipeline performance insights that had been invisible despite years of tool investment.
